Joggers World

Meet The Team

Meet Mario, the Joggers World Store Manager and backbone of our team.

Mario keeps a sharp eye on all movements in store, manages our communications with health practitioners, and ensures our technical knowledge is the best in the business.

He’s all about seizing the day, working hard, morning runs in his Adidas Supernova, supporting his beloved Port Power and drinking Adelaide's finest coffee blends.

Mario comes with a tidal wave of experience in the sports industry. He’s worked alongside some of South Australia’s greatest athletes, where he once fulfilled roles as the fitness coach for Cricket Australia, Port Adelaide, Sturt and Norwood Football Clubs. Yet he’s a modest man, in conversation you’re more likely to hear compliments of your own fitness aspirations, warm appreciation of his families Italian cooking and how you will never get hold of his homemade sauce.

A customer service guru and advocate for the active lifestyle, expect to feel impressed with Mario’s extensive knowledge of biomechanics and footwear fitting. You'll be sure to walk away with a shoe that's specific to your needs.

Meet Max, the Joggers World Floor Manager and one of the biggest smiles you’ll find on Pirie Street.

With 5 years experience, Max is a running shoe guru. Having tried and tested at least half the wall over the years, he will admit to being a little obsessed with running shoe technology and the associated marketing. With a little insight in to your running aspirations and a Gait Analysis, he can narrow down a suitable option quicker than he can run 5km.

Max is one of the countries top distance runners. Taking Silver in the 2018 Australian Athletics Championships over the 3000m Steeplechase, he narrowly missed selection for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Max is a regular at Athletics SA's track, cross country and road running events. You will likely see Max running along the Torrens with his Team Tempo running squad, or punching out reps around the Uni Loop. Currently, most of Max's mileage is done in the Asics Gel-Nimbus 20 and Gel-Pursue 4. For faster runs, he will lace up the Asics Dynaflyte 2 and then into the Asics Gel-Tartherzeal 6 on race day!

If he’s not waltzing in to work on his bicycle & trading home baked goods with Mario, he’s most likely relaxing on the coastline with coffee in hand.

Meet Andy, Joggers World Sales Assistant and now our in-house Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager. Notching up almost 8 years within the business, combining his creative passion and love for all things running, there’s no place he’d rather be.

A Track & Field fanatic and former 1500m State Champion, Andy has been involved in Athletics since he was 8 years old. Frustratingly, a 2-year hiatus due to injury has kept him off the track, Andy has learnt to appreciate the sport in its purest form, enjoying the simplicity of just heading out the door for a run.

A self-labelled cronut connoisseur, Andy seeks out the most exquisite cronuts from near and far, often accompanied by coffee and girlfriend, Charlotte. If that wasn’t enough to convince you his running and diet were a conflict of interests, this bearded burger baron is slowly, but surely ticking off every mouth-watering burger that Adelaide has on offer.

When Andy’s not designing creative graphics for the latest shoe model about to land, and pushing send on posts like this, he’s out on the floor fitting customers in their next pair of shoes. With over 15 years running experience, combined with 8 years of footwear tech knowledge, Andy knows a thing or two and will go above & beyond to ensure you’re in the right pair of shoes.

Meet Jacob, Joggers World sales assistant, health & fitness enthusiast and a technical knowledge wizard.

Jacob, commonly known among his co-workers as ‘Crossy’, has a life motto of “a comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there”. Despite only being a part of the team for 18 months, his ability to constantly challenge himself and will to continue learning, makes him one of the most clued-up team members in the technical footwear space.

An advocate for the healthy lifestyle, if Crossy isn’t helping others reach their fitness goals as a PT, he’s working on his own. Whether it’s swimming, riding or running, you can count on him getting some activity on his Garmin Forerunner 735XT on a daily basis. With physical activity and refuelling going hand in hand, Jacob recharges the batteries with a nutrition-rich salad, a long black and if he feels like he’s earned it, a pastry treat from Abbots & Kinney.

A third year Exercise Physiology student at Uni SA, Jacob brings a wealth of biomechanical knowledge by delivering highly insightful gait analysis and footwear fittings to our customers. Next time you’re being fitted by Jacob, expect to feel like your running goals are his first and foremost concern, and if you’ve got any questions regarding your health & fitness, he would be more than happy to help.

Meet 3 Hour Delivery Guy, a hero who pounds the pavement around Adelaide’s CBD & surrounding suburbs, delivering you running shoes within 3 hours of the order being placed.

Thought Eluid Kipchoge’s sub 2 hour marathon attempt was something special? We think 3 Hour Delivery Guy’s running ability is something to marvel. If you don’t believe us, order something online, have it delivered the same day within a swift 3 hours, and see the heroics for yourself.

Fast paced running and lactic acid go hand in hand, that’s why 3 Hour Delivery Guy wears 2XU and SKINS compression garments for during and after deliveries, reducing the onset of lactic acid and aiding recovery, ensuring he’s ready to go again at any given moment. While his bright orange cape slows him down a little, and is purely an aesthetically pleasing accessory, his Brooks Launch 5's take minutes off his time. The lightweight, yet highly responsive ride is perfect for fast lengthy runs on the roads.

So if you need something urgently, or can’t make it in store & impatiently want your new set of running shoes that day, look no further than our very own online store, joggersworld.com.au, and use our fast paced delivery service.

Meet Georgia, sales assistant & all-round sports star. It is clear that Georgia, or commonly known among the team as ‘G’, is a sport lover. Whether she’s playing it, spectating it, or coaching it, with a motto of ‘no pain, no gain!’, she certainly knows how to find success in anything she puts her mind to.

G has played soccer, water polo, hockey, and most notably, tennis and netball where she has won multiple grand finals for her school and club! Not to mention her success on the other side of the white line, having coached school Senior A Girls Tennis teams to a couple of undefeated seasons! If you thought hard court sports were G’s jam, think again – she’s completed the 2017 Brighton Jetty Classic 1500m Open Water Swim, and she’s now in training for next year’s event!

When Georgia’s not at work, or winning grand finals in her Asics GEL-Ballistic’s, she’s most likely doing a long walk on a scenic trail, brunching with her friends, and sneaking in some retail therapy ensuring she’s up to scratch on the latest fashion trends. If she’s not off traveling a new part of the globe, she is most definitely planning her next adventure. She can often be heard screaming ‘I love you Jimmy Bartel’ at Geelong Cats games, despite him retiring in 2016.

Georgia brings her sporting prowess to the workplace, not only by winning the 2015 Christmas Party Tennis Doubles Tournament, but showing great leadership and team player attributes among the staff. Having a Bachelor degree in Health & Medical Sciences, majoring in Exercise Science & Pathology, Georgia is a wealth of knowledge for any customer that walks through the door, especially those seeking a Gait Analysis. She believes a good pair of shoes can take you anywhere, and would love to fit you with your next pair.
